We all know and love the classic Margarita with its powerful mix of tequila, triple sec (orange liqueur) and Mexican-inspired fresh lime. There's a reason it's a classic cocktail!

Passionate about experimentation, we thought of modifying the traditional recipe and creating something equally refreshing and delicious, but using gin as a base for the spirit. The idea was that gin botanicals lend themselves perfectly to the citrus flavors of orange liqueur and lime juice!

A few experiments later, et voilà! Here it is: the margatrita al gin.

It is a deliciously sour, spicy and extremely pleasant drink that made us all dream of warm sandy beaches and waves lapping our feet. All that remains is to mix one to make us fly with the mind to the holidays!

A summer sip on which it is very easy to get your hands:

  • 50 ml gin
  • 25 ml orange liqueur
  • 25 ml lime juice
  • Cucumber for garnish
  • Salt flakes or Tajin, to decorate the glass*

Wet the edge of a glass and press it firmly in a saucer with salt (or tajin) to border the glass with salt. Put plenty of large ice cubes in your edged glass. Fill an ice shaker and add the gin, orange liqueur and lime juice. Shake and strain the drink into the glass. Garnish with a slice of cucumber or lime.

* Tajin is a chili lime salt commonly used as a condiment in Mexico. To make it at home, combine 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of lime zest, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ground coriander, and salt. with 1/8 teaspoon of sugar.
