FROM RAW MATERIALS TO MEDITERRANEAN GIN
Mediterranean Gin is produced with the collaboration of Thames Distillers, one of the most important distilleries in Great Britain
The experience of one of the most important master distillers in London, combined with the quality of Mediterranean raw materials and a careful distillation process, create the unique and decisive flavor of Gin Mediterraneo.
FIRST OF ALL,...
Even before starting the distillation process, we pay close attention to the quality of our botanicals: Camaldoli juniper, Provence lavender, Sicilian orange, cardamom and coriander from North Africa. It is the quality of our botanicals that, mixed with wisdom and harmony, give our gin its fresh and refined flavor.
IMMERSION
The 7 botanicals that make up Gin Mediterraneo are immersed in a still for about 18 hours to soften them and make the flavor stand out more before distillation. Thanks to this process, all botanicals release most of their oils and essences, giving Gin Mediterraneo its distinctive features.
DISTILLATION
Gin Mediterraneo is distilled into stills made by the legendary still company John Dore for Thames Distillery. Appropriately called Tom Thumb and Thumbelina, these 500-liter stills each produce a 200-liter batch of gin.
THE MASTER
DISTILLER
Charles Maxwell is at the helm of Thames Distillers with over 40 years of experience in gin distillation.
A legend of the industry in his own right, Charles is an eighth generation distiller whose family began producing gin in London in the 17th century. The knowledge gained of his first-hand experience, along with his unique family lineage, gave Charles the unwavering ability to consistently produce truly excellent and award-winning gins.
